Reblocking of Portion of Reparo Street

The reblocking works along  Reparo Street in Caloocan Street commenced on July 21, 2014. Not knowing about the said project, people around the said affected neighborhood were stunned about abrupt digging and excavation. The ongoing reparation of the road has created temporary ordeal for the residents of the said barangays. The stretch of the repair covers Barangay 162 and 163 which is about 500 meters long with two lanes under extensive works—meaning the road is impassable in the meantime for about 6-8 weeks.

Moreover, Jeepney terminal is displaced and the trip is shortened causing inconvenience during rainy days. Aside from the mud and the rough road, possibility of slipping into the excavated open-drainage is very imminent.

As we perceived, the reparation cannot be finished within the said target and can be extended up to 9-10 weeks since improving of drainage and canals are included in the said project. Ofcourse, the weather must really cooperate to expedite the said long-delayed repair of the stretch.

For me, it is now high time to repair the road because it really endangers the health of people from the leaking "pozo negro" along the said road. It has been the neighborhood's perennial problem and it really stinks everytime one passes through that leaky and dampened road.

The repair of the said road is under the initiative and watch of Mayor Oscar Malapitan.
